This policy explains what happens to information when you use FLAMES Calculator at https://flamescalculator.co.in. The short version: the names you type never reach us.
The names you enter
The FLAMES calculation runs entirely inside your own browser using JavaScript on your device. The two names you type are never transmitted to us, never written to a server, and never stored in any database. We have no way to see them, because we never receive them.
We also do not save them on your device. The names are never written to cookies, local storage or session storage. Close the tab and they are gone.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics (through Firebase) to understand how many people visit and which pages they read. It is the only third-party script on the site.
It sets Google Analytics cookies and reports to Google:
- the pages you view and when;
- your approximate location, derived from your IP address;
- your device type, browser and screen size;
- how you arrived — a search engine, a shared link, or directly.
This is measured in aggregate to tell us whether the site is working, not to identify you. The names you type are never sent to Google or to anyone else — they are not part of any analytics event, and the calculation still happens entirely on your device.
If you would rather not be counted, any browser-level tracking blocker, or Google’s own opt-out add-on, will stop it. The calculator works exactly the same either way.
Share links
When you share a result the link contains the two names encoded. The encoding is intentionally not human-readable, so the names are not readable at a glance in a chat preview or a browser history list. This is obfuscation for the sake of the surprise, not for security.Anyone with a link can decrypt and see both names, so treat a share link as public and share it only with people you want to show it to.
Hosting and server logs
Our hosting provider serves the site as static files. Like basically all web hosts, the provider processes basic technical information to serve pages and to protect against abuse. This usually includes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time of the request, and the user agent string of your browser.
This processing is done at the infrastructure level and is not something we collect, combine or use to build any profile of you. We don’t have access to it in a form that identifies individuals.
Children
If we ever add something that changes this picture — analytics, advertising, or any feature that stores your data — we will update this page and change the date at the top before that feature goes live.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to access, correct and erase personal data held about you. We do not hold a database of personal data. What Google Analytics collects is held by Google, and their own controls cover access and deletion. If you think differently, write to us and we will check it out.
