The service is for entertainment only
FLAMES is a schoolyard letter-counting game. The result it produces is arithmetic performed on the spelling of two names and nothing more. It is not a compatibility test, a personality assessment, a prediction, or advice of any kind.
Do not rely on a FLAMES result when making any decision that matters — personal, relational, financial or otherwise. We provide it purely for fun.
Using the site
The site is free to use. You agree not to:
- use it for any unlawful purpose, or to harass, defame or impersonate anyone;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
- scrape or reproduce the site systematically in a way that presents it as your own service.
You are responsible for the names you enter. Please do not use the names of private individuals in ways that would embarrass or harm them, and remember that a share link exposes both names to anyone who receives it.
Availability
We make no promise that the site will be available without interruption. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time, without notice and without liability to you.
Intellectual property
The FLAMES game itself is a piece of folk culture and belongs to nobody. The design, written content, code and branding of this site are ours and are protected by copyright. You may link to the site freely and share result links as much as you like. You may not copy the site's content or design wholesale for your own service.
Any names you enter remain entirely your own concern — we claim no rights over them, and as set out in our privacy policy we never receive them.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be error-free or uninterrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill or relationships, arising out of your use of or inability to use the site — including any consequence of a FLAMES result or of a result link being shared.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
